Are You Ready To Meet Him?

If Jesus were to return today, are you ready to meet Him?
If Jesus were to return today, are you ready to meet Him?

If Jesus were to return today, do you have assurance and hope of your salvation? Or if Jesus tarries, do you have assurance that when you die, you are going to be with Him in heaven? Do we have a confident assurance of our salvation and that when we leave this place, we will be with Jesus?

Either way, God wants us to be ready, and His will is for us to be sure. No one knows the day nor the hour, but one thing we know is that we are closer than ever before. If we look at the state of the world today, it's a precise environment for Jesus' imminent return.

God wants you to be ready and confident of this.

Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ. Philippians 1:6

God wants you to know that you have eternal life.

And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may KNOW that you have eternal life. (emphasis mine) 1 John 5:11-13
Knowing our eternal security is essential to our faith walk and our warfare.

Today, we continued with our High Alert series. This week's piece of weaponry? The helmet of salvation. Having assurance of our salvation and eternal security, I'm probably something we've all pondered from time to time. But knowing makes all the difference in our walk with Christ and protecting our minds and ears, by putting on salvation as our helmet.

The helmet of salvation is vital to our warfare. Mainly because the enemy attempts to convince us that we're not saved, or he deceives many into believing they are saved and are not.

Many have different beliefs concerning salvation. Many think that baptism alone saves them. Some think they are eternally secure and that they can continually and willfully practice sin because of God's grace.

Many believe that if they attend church every Sunday, they are as good as in. Many have been baptized, said a sinner's prayer, and are even doing a fruitful work in the kingdom, and have not had a true conversion. Many can be preaching, teaching, pastoring, etc., and not be born again.

Works are not evidence of true conversion; surrender unto holiness is.

Some have shared in the Holy Spirit. They have tasted of His goodness, have had revelation of God's word, yet have not fully surrendered their lives to God, straddling the fence, and are in danger of falling away because of the subtle lure of deception, flesh, and the world.

God wants you to know that He is faithful to keep you from falling.

Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling,

And to present you faultless

Before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy,

To God our Savior,

Who alone is wise,

Be glory and majesty,

Dominion and power,

Both now and forever.

Amen.

Jude 24-25

Dear friends, we must have an assurance of the new birth. Born from above. Born of spirit. A true heart change. A new heart. A new spirit. A new life. Made alive in Christ.

One thing is for certain: we are either born again, or we're not. There is no in between. This is a very serious and urgent matter. Where we spend eternity depends on it.

This is the foundation that we will build upon in this pressing message and more. It is my prayer that by the end of this message, you will be encouraged, be readying yourself for His return, keeping your lamps filled with oil, and be assured of an eternal work of God in your heart.

Love and prayers,

Shannon
