PRAYER FOR THE YOUTH

Rise during the night and cry out. Pour out your hearts like water to the Lord. Lift up your hands to Him in prayer, pleading for your children. Lamentations 2:19a

In the Book of Genesis very soon after God created Adam and Eve satan steps on the scene disguised as a shrewd serpent. One day he asked Eve, “Did God really say you must not eat the fruit from any of the trees of the garden? His tactic? He questioned God’s Word. He not only questioned God’s Word but he directly counters it as he assures Eve concerning eating the fruit, “You shall not die.” This scheme is very alive in our world today and there is a strategic target aimed at our young people.

Everything from educational systems, governmental systems, entertainment, social media, music, new age beliefs, etc. are countering the word of God and can potentially have a major influence on the thoughts, ideas and actions of our young people. These are all things that are against Christ and they’ve ushered in deception, delusion, evil, and the age-old questions, “Did God really say that?” “Did God really say not to do this or not to do that?” "Did God really mean that?" A device used from the beginning with the purpose to tempt, deceive, doubt and sin against God. This scheme continues today and as with Adam and Eve, the results are disastrous.

There is a brutal attack to steal, kill, destroy, tempt, and evoke doubt and delusion in the hearts of young people. To cause them to question God’s Word and goodness. To rob and confuse them of their identity. Steal their destinies. Discourage them. Depress them. Deceive them. Distract them. Oppress them. Isolate them. He wants their life by any means necessary and for those of us who war in the Spirit we must cry out for them like never before. Pour out our hearts like water to the Lord. Lift up our hands to God in prayer, pleading for their lives.

Lets join hearts in prayer:

Father, we stand in the gap for the lives of our young people. May they realize their frailty and need for You. Draw them by Your loving kindness and may Your love so invade and capture their hearts that they are consumed by Your tender mercies and transformed in Your presence.

May Your great love soothe and heal the pain of any trauma that they’ve experienced. We ask that You would put an ax to the root so that these things will no longer torment them and hinder them from fulfilling Your call on their lives. Cause forgiveness to rise up in their hearts so they can be free.

All-wise God You were purposeful in creating them. We pray that their identity and purpose will be found in You. Remove any counterfeits Lord sent to confuse, deter and disrupt Your plan for them. Remove the veil from their eyes so that they may really see who You created them to be; that they may with unveiled faces reflect Your glory as in a mirror and be transformed into the likeness of Christ from glory to glory by Your Spirit.

Gracious God give them a hunger and thirst for righteousness so that they may be filled. Create in them a clean heart and renew in them a right spirit. Pour out Your Spirit upon our sons and daughters Lord! Give them hope like no other! Set them ablaze for Your glory! Raise up, intercessors! Raise up, teachers! Raise up, evangelists! Raise up, pastors! Raise up encouragers! Raise up men after your own heart! Raise up, virtuous women! Raise up mighty remnant of young people with great impact for Your kingdom! What the enemy meant for bad turn it around for their good!

Father give them a strong sense and clarity of purpose. We pray that the eyes of their hearts be enlightened that they may know what is the hope of Your calling, what are the riches of the glory of Your inheritance.

We come against deception, doubt, discouragement, defeat, and delay. We claim our children for You! We pray that they may know what is the exceeding greatness of Your power toward those who believe! May they be yielded vessels and You be enthroned in their hearts.

Lord crown their heads with wisdom, revelation, peace, and understanding. Make their crooked paths straight and their rocky roads smooth. May Your gracious hand be upon them. Give them hearts to seek You so that they discover the delight in You!

We pray impenetrable hedges around them and cover them with the blood of Jesus! Bless their spiritual, emotional, and physical health. Supply their every need. Their greatest need; YOU!

We thank you that instead of being cast down there will be a pulling down of strongholds and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of You. Instead of bondage, there will be a breakthrough. Instead of confusion, there will be clarity.

Instead of darkness, there will be light. Instead of delusion, there will be discernment. Instead of deception, they will know the truth and the truth will set them free! Instead of being influenced by the world, the Word will have final authority over and in their lives! Instead of living in doubt, they will live in the Spirit, from faith to faith, from strength to strength, from glory to glory.

Endless possibilities of a life surrendered to You, the Giver of Life. We pray that life and life more abundantly will be their portion in Jesus Christ. You are faithful to do it and we thank and praise You for it. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
